Shun Takahata (Sota Fukushi), an average Japanese high school student, bemoans his everyday ‘boring existence’. But when god-like monsters descend to earth and invade classrooms all over Japan, Shun’s life is turned upside down. The gods force the students to play quirky but deadly versions of traditional Japanese games – deranged matches of strength, wisdom and luck involving a sinister daruma doll and a giant lucky cat, amongst others. Should you win the game and receive blessings from the gods, you just might proceed to the next round. Can the surviving students trust each other?
