Released into Japanese theaters in 2006, director Shusuke Kaneko's stylish adaptation of the best selling manga quickly trampled The Da Vinci Code on Japanese screens and subsequently and set box office records in Hong Kong and all across Asia. But Light isn't alone in his mission, because his new companion Ryuk - a flying god of death who only Light can see and who also happens to be the true owner of the notebook - is always there to egg him on and get a little laugh from the criminal holocaust. Over the course of the next few weeks, Light does away with millions of nefarious baddies and the global crime rate drops by seventy percent. Zgodba serije Better Call Saul se začne šest let preden Saul Goodman spozna Walterja Whita. Ko ga prvič srečamo, je moškemu, ki bo postal Saul Goodman, ime Jimmy McGill. Kot nepomemben odvetnik išče svojo usodo in trdo dela, da se lahko prebije skozi mesec. Skupaj z Jimmyjem in pogosto proti njemu dela tudi Mike Ehrmantraut, priljubljen lik, ki "odpravlja težave", gledalci pa so ga spoznali že v seriji Kriva pota. Serija sledi Jimmyjevi preobrazbi v moža, ki postavlja besedo "kazen" v "kazenski odvetnik".

Druga sezona se je končala s kar nekaj nepričakovanimi preobrati. Chuck (Michael McKean) je na vsak način bratu želel preprečiti ukvarjanje s pravom, zato ga je namerno ogoljufal in na skrivaj posnel Jimmyjevo priznanje zločina. Mike (Johnatan Banks) pa se je osredotočil na vodjo kartela in sociopata Hectorja Salamanco, a ga je še preden je sprožil pištolo, ustavilo zlovešče posredovanje. S tem so se pojavila vprašanja o drugih nevarnih akterjih v igri.

Nova, tretja sezona govori o preobratih in prelomnicah preobrazbe Jimmyja McGilla (Bob Odenkirk) v Saula Goodmana, zloglasnega kazenskega odvetnika Albuquerquea. Posledice Chuckovega načrta močno preizkušajo meje Jimmyjeve in Kimine odvetniške pisarne in njune sveže ljubezni. Neizogibna grožnja obstoja potisne Jimmyjev moralni kompas do njegovih skrajnih meja. Skozi sezono bomo spoznavali nove like, katerih ozadja osvetljujejo pomenske povezave z zgodbo serije Kriva pota (Breaking Bad). -STA
