Ko enega najbolj zloglasnih mafijskih šefov Pietra Savastana aretirajo in obsodijo na zaporno kazen, ima njegova desna roka Ciro Di Marzio končno priložnost postati nov vodja. A njegov čas še ni napočil. Ko je Pietro v ječi, nadzor sprva prevzame njegova soproga, saj se njun sin, klanovski naslednik Genny, še uči skrivnosti zločinske obrti v Hondurasu. Gomorrah season three will pick up the story following the events of the last run, which saw a huge gangland war break out.

Following the murder of Don Pietro Savastano (Fortunato Cerlino) in season two, a power vacuum has been created as the remaining soldiers vye for power. 

With news of the kingpin’s death spreading through Naples, a new turf war could erupt and see more bloodshed as the locals gangs fight one another for vital territory. 

Meanwhile, Ciro Di Marzio (Marco D'Amore) is on the run after killing Don Pietro and also on the back foot after his ambitions led to family tragedy and made him a whole host of enemies.

Season three will see the action move out across Italy as Gennaro "Genny" Savastano (Salvatore Esposito) is trying to maintain his legacy business as the son of Don Pietro in Northern Naples.

He’s also trying to manage his business operations and new life in Rome, but it’s all dependant on who rules the roost in his hometown of Secondigliano and since his father’s death things have been uncertain.

Sprva nisem načrtoval pisanja tega prispevka, saj sem Detectorists na blogu s kratkim povzetkom vsebine v angleščini omenil lani, toda po treh sezonah so mi junaki tako prirasli k srcu, da sem se vseeno odločil zapisati nekaj stavkov na to temo. Do danes smo dobili tri sezone (s po šestimi 30-minutnimi epizodami) in en božični special. Serija, ki jo od leta 2015 predvaja BBC, je postavljena v izmišljeno mestece Danebury, v angleški pokrajini Essex. Glavna junaka sta najboljša prijatelja Andy Stone (igra ga idejni tvorec serije Mackenzie Crook, ki podpisuje še režijo in scenarij) in Lance Stater (Toby Jones). Lance in Andy sta detektorista (in ne detektorja, kot jih nekateri zmotno kličejo) aktivna člana lokalnega kluba za detektiranje kovin, v katerem poleg njiju sodeluje še nekaj lokalnih navdušencev nad iskanjem davno izgubljenih zakladov. Opremljena s profesionalno opremo za iskanje kovin Andy in Lance skoraj vsakodnevno pohajkujeta po lokalnih poljih in gričih v upanju, da bosta našla nekaj velikega in pomembnega. Po nekaj urah na zraku se skupaj z ostalimi člani dobijo v lokalni pivnici in ob vrčku piva pokomentirajo aktualne najdbe, enkrat tedensko pa se v prostorih kluba na ogled vse najdbe preteklega tedna. Tako kot vsaka druga interesna dejavnost, je tudi detektiranje dober "izgovor" za druženje in pripovedni okvir znotraj katerega spoznavamo življenja glavnih protagonistov.

V fokusu se znajde Andyjevo razmerje z dolgoletno punco, osnovnošolsko učiteljico Becky, njegov strah pred zakonom, očetovstvom in še čem. Lancovo zasebno življenje se v večjem delu prve sezone vrti okoli njegove obsedenosti z bivšo ženo, ki zdaj živi z drugim moškim, v novejših sezonah pa se Lance na svoj način spopada z izzivi nove ljubezni in izboljšanjem odnosov z že odraslo hčerko Kate, ki se nepričakovano vrne v njegovo življenje. Osrednja antagonista (če ju lahko tako označim) sta rivalska detektorista Simon in Garfunkel – tako ju v prvi sezoni zaradi podobnosti s slavnim glasbenim duom poimenujeta Andy in Lance – s katerima glavna junaka ves čas vodita boj za parcele, na katerih izvajata iskanja. Detectorists bi težko označil za klasično humoristično serijo, ki gledalca preko natempiranih komičnih vrhuncev, skozi dialog in situacijsko komiko, spravlja v smeh. Recept serije ne sledi klasičnem "sitcom" vzorcu – namesto pokanja instant šal se ustvarjalci raje posvečajo karakternim študijam protagonistov iz katerih potem izhaja večina komičnih situacij in utrinkov. Ali povedano drugače, Detectorists je serija, ki ne stavi na nizanje kratkih, ponavljajočih se duhovitih domislic in situacijskih dovtipov, ampak se raje osredotoča na grajenje "feel-good," počutja. Pozitiven vpliv na razpoloženje gledalca je najmočnejši adut serije, svoj delež pa prispevajo tudi všečnimi liki, ki jih hitro vzamemo za svoje, za njih navijamo in jih v maniri zaskrbljenih prijateljev obsojamo, ko počnejo neumnosti. Všečnost likov med drugim izhaja tudi iz premišljene selekcije igralskega kadra in skupinskega napora vseh članov igralske zasedbe. Ključna dejavnika v tej enačbi sta Mackenzie Crook  in Toby Jones, ki skupaj ustvarita enega najbolj simpatičnih prijateljskih duetov zadnjih nekaj let.

Pod okriljem evropske filiale ameriškega kabelskega giganta HBO je nastalo nekaj odmevnih serij, ki so pritegnile pozornost tudi izven meja države nastanka. Nekaj let nazaj se je tudi pri nas veliko govorilo o češki produkciji Goreči grm, nedolgo nazaj sem na blogu omenil Puščo, še eno odmevno češko serijo. Poleg Češke je HBO sproduciral več tovrstnih projektov na Poljskem, Madžarskem in Romuniji, v kratkem pa naj bi HBO Europe gledalcem ponudili tudi prve serije iz Skandinavije. Večina že predvajanih naslovov je na HBO-jevi evropski platformi dostopna zainteresiranim gledalcev V Sloveniji, med temi naslovi je tudi romunska krimi drama Sence.

Glavni junak serije je bukareštanski taksist Relu, družinski človek in oče dveh otrok, ki pred najbližjimi skriva svoje dvojno življenje. Za ženo in otroka je le taksist, a je taksiranje z rumeno Dacio le krinka za posle, ki jih opravlja za svojega mafijskega šefa Capitanuja. Izterjava dolgov z oderuškimi obrestmi, zaščita Capitanujevih prostitutk in telesna straža so njegove glavne zadolžitve, vendar je Relu pripravljen dokončati praktično vsako nalogo, ki jo pred njega postavi veliki šef. Tudi če je treba izterjati denar od dobrega prijatelja, ne dela razlik. A ko med enim izmed njegovih "posredovanj" po nesreči ugasne življenje starega znanca, Relu pade v depresijo in začne prevpraševati svojo poklicno pot. Skrivnosti je toliko, da jih je vedno težje obvladovati. Relu počasi izgublja kontrolo in nenadoma se v nevarnosti znajde tudi njegova družina.

Kritiki Sence najpogosteje kategorizirajo kot romunsko različico Sopranovih, toda takšna formulacija, čeprav ni zgrešena, razkriva le del resnice. Tudi Sence je, tako kot večina zgodb s sorodno tematiko, postavljena na preizkušenih temeljih. V ospredju so protagonisti razpeti med dve družini – tisto pravo družino in nadomestno, mafijsko družino – (anti)junaki, ki bolj ali manj uspešno kontrolirajo specifično prepletanje zasebnih in "poslovnih" interesov. Rezultat je praviloma boljši, če so te vezi intimnejše, meje med družinami zabrisane (Kum, Sopranovi). Sence vsebujejo vse te elemente, a je hrbtenica serije stkana iz karakterne študije glavnega protagonista. Njegov zorni kot prevladuje, večina dogajanja je v večji ali manjši meri povezana z njegovimi dejanji. Avtor Bogdan Mirica (scenarij, režija dveh epizod) v sodelovanju z Igorjem Cobileanskim (režiserjem preostalih epizod) gledalcu učinkovito posreduje pristno izkušnjo sodobne Romunije. Ključna figura  prepričljive igralske zasedbe je Serban Pavlu, ki premore potrebno fizično in igralsko kapaciteto za zapomljivo upodobitev redkobesednega Reluja. Serija na produkcijskem nivoju sledi visokim HBO standardom, dobro zveni tudi izvirna, za serijo ustvarjena glasbena podlaga madžarskega skladatelja Adama Balazsa. Mirica v miks vrže vse pomembnejše sestavine za uspešno gangsterijado: izterjavo dolgov, prostitucijo, pranje denarja preko gradbenih poslov, podkupljene policaje, ilegalno orožje, pokvarjene politike... Recept je vsekakor dober, toda serija vseeno ne doseže zares bleščečega rezultata. Po mojem mnenju predvsem zato, ker nima dovolj potrpljenja in občutka za niansiranje posameznih likov in tiste drobne posebnosti, ki karakterje v končnici naredijo življenjske. Pogrešal sem tudi večjo poglobljenost v dinamiko mafijskih poslov, več občutka za detajl in morda kakšno romunsko posebnost, ki bi vsem skupaj dala dodatno draž.

Although he is only ten years old, Jack is responsible for himself and his little brother Manuel and this fills him with pride. Their single mother works during the day and often goes out at night. There’s no father in sight. One day, Manuel burns himself with boiling hot water while bathing and Jack is blamed for the incident. It's reason enough for social services to put him in a home where he is dreadfully homesick. He soon gets into trouble and bolts, heading for home. He arrives back, only to find his mother is once again absent. Jack and Manuel roam the city in search of her. They sleep in parks and in an underground car park, run away from the police and encounter adults, some of whom help and others who are indifferent.

Edward Berger and co-writer Nele Mueller-Stöfen’s portrait of two children’s search for their mother is at once laconic and sensitive, poetic and full of understanding for the boys’ pain and loneliness. At the same time the film paints a panoramic image of Berlin: its boulevards and supermarkets, its nightclubs, bars and parks, but also the dreary outskirts far away from the pulsating centres.

The restless spirits of Portugal’s post-colonial underclass stumble dazedly though the wilds of “Horse Money,” the latest — and in some respects the most striking — of director Pedro Costa’s hallucinatory bulletins from the Lisbon slum known as Fontainhas. Already reduced to rubble at the time of Costa’s previous feature, the polarizing Cannes competition entry “Colossal Youth,” the Fontainhas of “Horse Money” exists only as memory and myth, its displaced residents — led once again by Costa’s non-pro muse, the septuagenarian construction worker known as Ventura — ever more adrift and further from home. Less overtly “difficult” than some of Costa’s work, “Horse Money” still lacks a traditional narrative structure and demands a patient, inquisitive audience, but the director’s cult of admirers has been growing (as evidenced by a Criterion DVD set of the first three Fontainhas features) and should continue to do so with this strange, hauntingly beautiful effort.
