[Story]

After many years away, ex-cop Brenner returns to Graz where he grew up. He's in for a tough confrontation with his former girlfriend, his old friends and a dark secret from the past fraught with consequences.

One friend, Köck, is even pleased to see him. A short time later he is dead and Brenner wakes up in the hospital with a bullet hole in his head and no memory of what happened. The chief of police seems to know something, the female doctor taking care of Brenner is suspiciously nice and very protective, while his old friends turn out to be different than he expected. In Graz, everyone knows more about you than you know yourself. With no hope of help, Brenner begins his private investigation.

[About Wolfgang Murnberger]

Austrian director and screenwriter. Born in 1960 in Wiener Neustadt. He studied directing, screenwriting and editing at the Vienna Film Academy. His graduation film 'Himmel oder Hölle' (1991) won awards both at home and abroad. His second feature 'Ich gelobe' (1994) was a box-office success in Austria. His feature film 'Come Sweet Death' (2000) based on the novel by Wolf Haas made him also popular beyond Austria - the dark-humoured thriller became one of the highest-grossing films since 1981. In 2004 he presented the sequel 'Silentium' which was even more successful. His third adaptation of a Wolf Haas novel, 'The Bone Man', was screened at the WFF in 2009.
